We had a wonderful stay here for two months. Only a block away from the ocean, the gym, plenty of supermarkets and two great coffee shops. It′s walking distance to anywhere and if you don′t have a car, you can just walk down the road and take one of the local taxi buses, which is completely safe and only costs R5. The apartment is comfortable, private and gets cleaned everyday. The landlord, Rita, is very helpful and we′ll stay here again. You′ll love it once you stay here. Best self catering apartment in Cape Town! :)

Barry Hall was a lovely experience for both my husband and I. The place is just gorgeous and very cozy. I love the landscaping around the whole property. Rita was very accommodating and looked after us very well. It′d be great if the kitchen had an oven though, but other than that, it was a wonderful experience.

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights and found the accommodations to be wonderful. The rooms were quite spacious and well decorated. It’s centrally located in Cape Town, only a few blocks from the beach. In addition, Rita was a great host! I warmly recommend Barry Hall for your stay in Cape Town.

We stayed in a very large 3 bedroom first floor apartment. The furnishings are beautiful and the apt is lovely. You can find everything you need in and around the location. There is a Woolworths (oh, how I miss it) and several places to eat within walking distance. The location is great - very easy to drive to downtown or Kalk′s Bay. There is a gated area to park a car. Very safe. Thanks.

Da alle Doppelzimmer in unserem Besuchszeitraum (WM 2010) belegt waren, stellte uns die freundliche Besitzerin (sie spricht auch deutsch) ihr Einzelzimmer mit WC/Dusche, Fernseher, Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher ect. zur Verfügung. Das Zimmer war sauber und die Bettmatratze sehr rückenfreundlich und gut. Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen und hat Banken, Restaurantes und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten um die Ecke. Zur schönen Campsbay mit tollem Strand und in´s Stadtcenter sind es nur wenige Autominuten.

"If you want comfort, historical charm, and access to everything Cape Town, this is the home for you! We stayed 12 days for World Cup and besides having amazing African winter weather, our accommodations made this vacation. It is a warm, clean, safe place to come home to after a long day touring. This place is close to everything. We walked to the waterfront more than once. You are steps from cabs, good restaurants, coffee, internet cafes, a great grocery store, and best of all the beach. Seriously, what else can I say, oh I know, the owners of this building are amazing! Rita and Neil greet you when you arrive, and kiss you goodbye when you leave, and in between they are 100% available to assist you with whatever you need. Dinner recommendations, driving directions, you name it.

Ich kann Barry Hall mit allerbestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Wunderschöne, gepflegte und stilvolle Liegenschaft an sicherer Lage. Wer die nähe zu Camps Bay, Clifton, Green Point wie auch der Innenstadt liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung "Ritas Nr. 3" ist sehr sauber, stilvoll, grosszügig und alle Geräte auf neuem Stand. Ein schöner Balkon und Hinterhof mit Grillplatz runden alles ab.

Barry Hall was our home away from home for 2 weeks during the 2010 World Cup, and our group of four (two married couples) could not have been happier with our experience, from start to finish. Rita (owner) and her staff were incredible the accommodations really felt more like a 5 star hotel than a self catering apartment (but with the advantage of being able to cook your own food in a stainless steel kitchen or have your own bbq in the back courtyard). While the pictures on VRBO and their website are accurate, they could not capture how charming, spacious, and elegant the building and units actually are. All of our expectations were far exceeded during the stay, and we look forward to coming back to re-live our World Cup experience in the future. I should also note we appreciated Barry Hall′s location within Cape Town - we felt we were ideally located to take in all the city has to offer. Table Mountain, the beach scene at Camps Bay, downtown city center, are all at your finger tips here.

Not only was Barry Hall in a wonderful location but the owner Rita, provided first class service. As for the location, you would be hard pressed to find a better one. Within a 10 minute walk you could find a couple of grocery, liquor, and pharmacy stores along with many outstanding neighborhood restaurants. As an added bonus the property is located only a few blocks from the ocean with its wonderful promenade filled with families, dog walkers, and art work. It is here That you can catch the on and off red double Decker bus that will provide a good overview of the city And it’s the surrounding area. We were able to save a day on our car service and it provided us with A clear idea of what and where we wanted to spend more time and even saw things we were unaware Of from our various tour books. As for Rita, not only did she arrange for the car service to pick us up but she was there to greet us herself at 11:00PM. She called to verify that we were fine after the worse wind in over 50 years had swept through the area and to provide us with information on what to see in the surround areas. On top of that much of the furniture in the unit is designed by her husband and produced by their local company.

What tremendous accomodations we had at Barry Hall! The pictures simply cannot do it justice. Everything was very clean and spacious and the location could not have better for our two week stay in Cape Town. We were close to everythng we needed, but did secure a car for our day trips. Rita was extremely helpful. Her gracious hospitality and personal touch were evident throughout our experience. We will stay here again!!!.

Just returned from a delightful stay here! Traveling to the other side of the world was intrepidating for both of us but beyond a well appointed apartment, our host Rita was especially attentive helping us to feel at ease even if we were 11,000 miles from home. While we didn′t know this neighborhood before choosing it, we found it to be safe and up beat, 2 1/2 blocks from the Ocean and filled with great restaurants and markets with ready prepared food. The impecably maintained gardens behind the building lent itself to enjoying a few meals at home rather than going out. In one day we were able to start with a jog along the water, have deli for breakfast (around the corner at New York Bagel) cable car to the top of Table Mountain and watch baboons & ostriches approach our car at the Cape of Good Hope, then return to watch TV in the apartment. Especially impressive was our host′s sincere desire to make sure we saw all the areas we wanted to, taking time to draw maps and advising us which areas were best for what we wanted. (had it not been for Rita we would have missed out on a whale sighting). All in all they′ve done a fantastic job of restoring the building to it′s former glory while marching into the 21st century with Sattelite TV and wifi and microwave.
